What Defines You (continued)

I recently returned to an old series thanks to a friend. She contacted me after seeing my "What Defines You" series and volunteered to be photographed. A few weeks later, with family gathered for a birthday party, I set up shop and photographed those who wanted to present one of the things that defines them to the camera. It was fun to finally get to use my new film camera. Thanks Anna-Marie!

  1. why isn't any body smiling? THey look like you were torturing them! LOL

  2. LOVE THE WHOLE CONCEPT...B&W, Seriousness, Simple, Statement...and love that you used a film camera. Mine sits proudly above my Stampin Up Hutch. I think I'll take it down and use it very soon. Love Digital (NOW) only got my SLR last spring. Miss my old FILM SLR for sure.

  3. Jon, I find this series very intriging and inspiring. I'm glad your mother-in-law, Shelli, shared it on her blog so that I could see these photos. (Yes, I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.... which you probably figured out, how else to random groups of women find out about you LOL!) :-)
I'm going to ask of favor of you? I am a high school Art instructor and just this year started a photography class (which I've always wanted to do). School has just started for the year and I need more ideas, so I hope you would be willing to let us use this "What Defines You" theme for one of our lessons. Is that o.k. with you?
Thanks for sharing your love of photography,

  4. I've been catching up on my blog reading and stumbled across this via Shelli's blog. It was great fun - you are the best - here's the link to my blog where I shared about our shoot!
I love the new additions to the series! Have a great time settling in to your new home - I'll be sure to stay in touch!

  5. Fascinating series - I wish folks were smiling though. Many of the expressions look unhappy or strained to me. Especially Shelli, who is always smiling :-)
