Bible Photos

This was a fun lighting assignment that I worked on. We were given freedom to choose our subject matter and I thought this would be fun to do.

Preparing for the flood. According to this real photograph of Noah that was shot just before the flood, Noah was taller than an elephant.
TKO. David slew Goliath with one stone. It's amazing what can be done when you're on the Lord's side!
"Let my people go!"

Mechanics Series

I started the quarter photographing small town mechanics and loved how they turned out. However, I wasn't quite ready to pursue that project. I hope to start it back up soon, maybe next quarter.

Creating a Scene: Part II

Here is the second image I worked on. I actually finished it soon after I posted the one prior to this one with Shalae, but school got in the way. Since the quarter ended today (Wahoo!), I finally have some time to post a few things I've been working on. This one was just as fun to put together. (I photographed everything except the backpack which I found on REI). Hope you enjoy!

Creating a Scene

This is the first of two photos I'm working on. The project was to composite different photographs into one and make it look real or believable. I had already photographed the car in Utah but didn't have time prior to moving to Savannah to place it in a different background. I decided to shoot down by the river off River Street and then photograph Shalae as my model. She did wonderfully! I tried to photograph the background, the car, and the model using the same angle, zoom, and direction of light so that they would mesh better in the end. In the end, I had a lot of fun doing this and hope to do more like it.

I started with this background.

This is one of the 27 other photos I used to create the final image you see below.

The finished composite of the car.

The model.

And finally, the finished piece that consisted of 25 different layers. You've got to love Photoshop!

What Defines Me?

I finally got around to photographing myself as part of this series. I love cars and jeans. I was going to continue working on this series in my graduate critique class, but decided I needed to try something new. I just shot some of my new stuff on film and will develop it tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have it up by next week.

My Dear Wife

Here's a photo I took of my lovely wife. Now that I'm back in school, she gets to be my model for projects. I'm blessed to have someone who is willing, photogenic, and beautiful to photograph! School is stressful already and I've only been going for a week and a half! Well, I've got to get back to work.

What Defines You (continued)

I recently returned to an old series thanks to a friend. She contacted me after seeing my "What Defines You" series and volunteered to be photographed. A few weeks later, with family gathered for a birthday party, I set up shop and photographed those who wanted to present one of the things that defines them to the camera. It was fun to finally get to use my new film camera. Thanks Anna-Marie!
