What Defines Me?

I finally got around to photographing myself as part of this series. I love cars and jeans. I was going to continue working on this series in my graduate critique class, but decided I needed to try something new. I just shot some of my new stuff on film and will develop it tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have it up by next week.

My Dear Wife

Here's a photo I took of my lovely wife. Now that I'm back in school, she gets to be my model for projects. I'm blessed to have someone who is willing, photogenic, and beautiful to photograph! School is stressful already and I've only been going for a week and a half! Well, I've got to get back to work.

What Defines You (continued)

I recently returned to an old series thanks to a friend. She contacted me after seeing my "What Defines You" series and volunteered to be photographed. A few weeks later, with family gathered for a birthday party, I set up shop and photographed those who wanted to present one of the things that defines them to the camera. It was fun to finally get to use my new film camera. Thanks Anna-Marie!

A Touch of Tuscany... in Utah

I felt like I was in Italy as I photographed this beautiful home. I must admit I was a little intimidated, really intimidated actually, since it was my first time photographing a home. I'm not used to taking pictures at this scale, but I accepted the challenge anyway and started my research and experiments. I had two days to get the project done and the weather cooperated perfectly! The days were sunny with blue skies and gorgeous white fluffy clouds. The evenings were even better with breathtaking colors throughout the rainclouds. I was a little nervous being on a forklift 30 feet high with lightning striking not far away but I managed to get the shots needed without getting hit. This was a great learning experience and I hope to be able to shoot another home sometime. Thanks to the designer/homeowner, I felt a little bit of Italy without leaving the state. Grazie!

Italy Transferred Art Show

Here are some photos from my show down in St. George. The exhibit went well and I was able to sell six of my pieces. We had quite a few people show up that enjoy the unique process I use to make my art. I'll post some of my other pieces later in case anyone would like to purchase one.

My Show

I am showing some of my work in St. George this weekend during the St. George Arts Festival. Feel free to stop by if you're in St. George. I'm excited about the stuff I'm showing!

PURE Hawaii

I developed this series on jewelry in order to create a 'mock' jewelry catalog. I wanted to see if I could successfully pull off creating the concept, photographing it, then placing it into a layout that could be applicable in the commercial world. I went as far as mailing it to my professor without informing him before hand. His roommate tossed it into the recycle bin, mistaking it for 'junk' mail. I must give credit to my brother-in-law, Sean, for the structure of my catalog. I completed this series in the fall of 2007 but people have been asking why I haven't placed it on my blog. So here you go.
